12 Days of Christmas--Last day! Day 12!

Can you believe we are wrapping up 12 Days of Christmas already? I hope you have enjoyed all the ideas that Melanie and I have shared with you again this year. I really look forward to this experience with her and for crafting up special projects just to share as a part of this blog hop!

My final project needed to be another scrapbook page as that is my favorite things to spend my creative time on and I love how this page turned out.

A few Christmases ago I had gone on a Target road trip prior to the holidays and found this Target store themed gingerbread house kit. Summer and I had so much fun putting it together and I can promise you it looked better than the one on the box cover. In fact, we felt that we had ‘nailed it’—hahaha!

I started with a White Willow 12x12 as my base and I added two 1/2x12 strips of this really old random red & white striped DSP (the back is the same pattern but Garden Green). I knew I had hung onto it for a reason, and the reason was this page! Hoarding of crafty supplies is a real thing!

The other DSP on this page is from the Christmas Tags & More 6x6 stack. I like this paper because its my favorite color combo for the holidays. And of course I had to add in some Pool Party and Coastal Cabana elements. The strip of Pool Party DSP is from the Floral Impressions collection.

The little clip above my photo is from the Just a Note Dies and they are a keeper. Adding the sentiment “Baking Spirits Bright” with some Real Red & White striped bakers twine behind was perfect for this little corner of my page with a cute mini gingerbread man and candy cane.

Once again combining both of our featured bundles!

I made my own oversized tag to buddy up beside my gingerbread person. My character is stamped on Crumb Cake paper and embossed in white. I enjoyed how the stamp set provided different expressions to add to your gingerbread. I punched out mini circles to add to my tag for texture and interest and ran some of the new Real Red Shiny ribbon through the top with a bit more twine.

The sentiment Its Beginning to Taste like Christmas is double stacked on two circles (from the retired Layering Circles Framelits). And once again I fussy cut out the word ‘taste’ in Garden Green and elevated it with mini dimensionals. I love this little trick to highlight a word in a larger sentiment.

The gingerbread man popping out of the oven mit might be my fav thing on this page!

I hope you have been inspired by the two scrapbooking pages, the cards and treat giving ideas shared by. myself over our annual blog hop. I know I enjoyed curating them for all of you!

Make sure to finish off the hop by visiting Melanie today and go back and catch up on anything you may have missed!

12 Days of Christmas with Brenda & Melanie

Hi friends welcome back to our annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop! This year Mel and I are going to feature a variety of projects using the Homemade Treats and the Gingerbread Man bundles! Today we will each share a project and then we will alternate days and on the 12 day each share a project! So over the course of the next 12 days you will get piles of inspiration using these bundles!

For my first project I wanted to share a scrapbook page as I love scrapbooking and I wanted to share a fun idea with how you can use this fun bundle to create a scrapbook page.

I started with a base of Pecan Pie Two Tone card stock and used the light side. The reason for this was so that when I die cut the gingerbread men out of the card stock you would see a contrast in the shapes. I love how it turned out!

I dug out an older picture of Summer where she is putting together a Gingerbread House as its a fun memory I want to keep. This is a reminder that we are never caught up in our memory keeping—its not a linear hobby!

The photo mat is Coastal Cabana and this color lends itself so well to this general color combination of Real Red, Garden Green and Pretty in Pink.

As mentioned Melanie and I are going to be using both the Homemade Treats and Gingerbread Man bundles over our 12 Days of Christmas Shares so I wanted to design this page to showcase how to use both on this project.

I absolutely. LOVE the dies from the Gingerbread Man Bundle —especially the candy cane. I cut it out to have both a red and white candy cane and a Pretty in Pink candy cane.

TOP TIP: This is easy to do with the dies as you just flip the paper over to the backside to have the candy canes going in opposite directions.

The sentiment Sugar & Spice is from the Gingerbread Man stamp set and the ‘tis the Season for Baking’ can be found in the Homemade Treats stamp set.

I had fun adding in the little gingerbread man and gumdrops to act like embellishments on this page.

I wanted the oven mitt to act like a stocking in a sense with things popping out of the top of it and falling down the side of the photo.

Adding the wrapped candy, rolling pin and the Peppermint Embellishments made this little section so fun. The Garden Green and White Chevron ribbon is a sneak peek of a new ribbon coming out this month with our newest Online Exclusive release. It’s a perfect ribbon to add to this page along with the Real Red Shiny Ribbon at the top.

I hope this page inspires you to use these bundles together as they really are perfect partners! You can now head on over to Melanie’s blog—Mels Inky Fingers to see what she is sharing today. Click on the image below to go straight to her blog.

Then check back with her tomorrow as she is going to share on even days and I will share again on the odd days (so Nov 3rd) and we will each share on day 12!

12 Days of Christmas--Day 9!

Hi friends! Its day 9 already! The months leading up to Christmas always seem to go so fast don’t you think? And its definitely time to start thinking about holiday baking!

For my project today I wanted to share a fun little card that is 99% created from the Homemade Treats bundle. This is a bundle that I will designate as a ‘keeper set’ because I like to hang onto any sets that have to do with baking, food, treat giving etc. Its a genre we don’t see quite as often.

I started with a base of Real Red card stock and then added a panel of the Silent Snowfall specialty 12x12 paper—it has a cute little snowflake pattern embossed on it. I love this paper! Its such a great alternative to a panel of white where you do not plan to do any stamping.

Next I added a panel of polka dots from the Traditions of Christmas DSP and to bridge the two panels I cut a 1/2 x 3 3/4 piece of Garden Green card stock and added two strips of the new Garden Green & White Chevron Ribbon. Because this ribbon is so thin it was fun to add to strips of it for a bit of a different design element.

I love how you can see the little snowflakes printed on the Silent Snowfall paper—they are in perfect proportion to the other elements on this card as well.

The best part of this card was adding all of the little elements from the Homemade Treats bundle—the only thing that is added from the Gingerbread Man bundle are the Garden Green gumdrops.

I modified the sentiment to just say ‘Tis the Season’ and stamped it in Coastal Cabana. If you have been following along you can probably notice a color theme to my projects!

The rolling pin, little gingerbread men and mini candy canes are just so fun! And the icing piping bag full of icing is a cute touch to this eclectic mix of images.

I punched a couple banners from the Garden Green plain pattern from the Christmas Tags & More DSP stack and added this between the layers on my sentiment. A few red sequins from the Traditional Sparkling Sequins completed this card project.

I really love this project and already can think of a few friends that will enjoy getting it from me this holiday season.

Make sure to visit Melanie’s blog to see what awesome projects she has been creating! So far you should have 10 different projects to be inspired from!

12 Days of Christmas--Day 7!

Have you been enjoying our 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop so far? I hope you have been inspired by the projects that we have been sharing every day! Don’t forget to check out both of our blogs so that you don’t miss anything!

My next project is another tag of sorts! I cam across this adorable mug at a local grocery story and could not resist buying it as I knew I could use the Gingerbread Man Bundle to make a fun tag for some Swiss Miss Cocoa Flavored Popcorn.

TOP TIP: I have a couple good popcorn recipes on my blog!

I used a cello bag (found in the party section at the grocery store) to hold my popcorn by adding the empty bag to the mug then scooping in some popcorn and adding some Real Red Shiny Ribbon.

The Gingerbread Man dies are fun because they are designed to open like a tag! Isn’t that fun? So I knew that I needed to use it in the way it was designed and adding a tag to this matching mug was just perfect.

The dies also come with so many fun add ons like the candy cane, wrapped candies, accessories to dress up your gingerbread person and more.

Top Tip: Use a Basic Black Stampin’ Blend to color the handle on your sucker

My gingerbread girl is stamped on Pecan Pie card stock using White Craft ink and embossing powder. I then added a couple cute treats to their hand a bow for her hair.

On the inside I decided to combine elements from the Homemade Treats bundle and I was so happy that when the tag is closed, you don’t really see that there is something fun hiding on the inside!

I stamped the sentiment 2x and fussy cut out ‘Christmas’ to pop it up a bit. It is one of my favorite tricks. A cute little candy cane, heart (from the Bee Builder Punch) and a couple banners from the Joy of Christmas DSP and this fun little mug gift was complete.

Make sure to check out what Melanie shared yesterday and hit this button to see what she has in store for tomorrow. Between the 12 of us we are sharing projects every day!

12 Days of Christmas--Day 3!

Hi friends! How have you been enjoying the blog hop so far? I have you have been inspired and if you have not added these bundles to your cart yet, you will be soon! There is still plenty of holiday crafting time left and baking season is really just beginning which is why I wanted to share an idea for an easy way to dress up a holiday treat.

I do love baking all throughout the year but there is something special about holiday baking. I love to participate in bake exchanges as its a fun way to get new ideas and share a recipe you love. I also enjoy making things and packaging them up cute to share with a co-worker, friend, stampin customers and my kids.

My kids have really been enjoying cookies lately and so I wanted to create a fun tag that you could use to package up individual cookies or a stack of cookies in a cello bag.

TOP TIP: Did you know I have a recipe section on my blog as well? Check my Lifestyle Tab and Brenda’s Favorite recipes to see some of my family's favorites!

I made my own tag by cutting a piece of Coastal Cabana into 2 1/4 x 4 inches and stamped the squiggles along the bottom from the Gingerbread Man stamp set is the same color. I attached the tag through a piece of Real Red Shiny Ribbon. I cut the ribbon in half so that it wasn’t as thick. I tied into a knot on the cookie bag and left the tails of the ribbon to float free. The Garden Green & White Chevron ribbon was added over the hole on the tag to act as another bow. Sometimes I find this easier than trying to get my original ribbon to cooperate!

The sentiment is from the Homemade Treats stamp set and because its quite large, I needed to use the 2 3/8 circle punch. I used the Stampin’ Write markers (RIP) in Real Red and Garden Green on the sentiment.

The little gingerbread man and rolling pin are from the same stamp set and are stamped using Pecan Pie ink. The adorable candy die cut is from the Gingerbread Man die set. The mini heart is from the Bee Builder Punch.

I think adding an handmade tag to your holiday baking is such a special extra touch. I plan to have a stack made and ready to go for the holidays for when I want to leave an unexpected treat for someone on their desk!

Please consider shopping with. me if you are in Canada and need some crafty supplies as it helps me continue to love what I do!
