Twelve Days of Christmas--Project #4

Hi friends! This is my fourth project to share with you and I am going back to my roots of scrapbooking, sharing another page made with the A Little Bit Festive Speciality Paper. I absolutely love the potential of these papers and all the pop out pieces that are included.

I think my favorite thing about this page is that it is on a base of Blueberry Bushel. I think its a really unique blend of colors, completely inspired by this Specialty DSP. You get 3 two sided sheets for a total of 6 patterns in this collection.

I love the blue gingham dsp and it was fun to use it on a bit of an angle for this scrapbook page. I used a retired die to add the large scallop detail along the DSP.

I added a large Garden Green Photo mat layer that I ran through the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder. This is such a great versatile folder in that oversized 6 x 8 size which is awesome. I know I will be able to use this folder all year long on a variety of projects. You will notice I used the same scallop die as a photo mat edge in Real Red.

I stamped some snowflakes from the One of a Kind stamp set in Blueberry Bushel along the same angle created by the DSP and the scallop die.

The variety of elements in this A Little Bit Festive collection work to really bring some fun and whimsy to this page. I love the big candy canes and the sleigh of gifts and they were perfect accompaniments to this layout.

I added the sentiment ‘Yay all the Way’ from the Sophisticated Sled stamp set with a little Red & White Bakers twine behind it. Let it Snow is from the same set and I decided to layer it on a Garden Green circle with some bakers twine and little heart from the Bee Builder Punch.

I connected the Pool Party Snowflake element with a die cut Pool Party snowflake from the One of a Kind dies. And of course the page is finished off with the popular candy candy elements!

Thanks for popping by today! I hope you are enjoying what Melanie and I have been sharing! You can visit her blog tomorrow to see what she has shared for inspiration.

Twelve Days of Christmas--Project #3

Hey Hey Hey! Welcome to my 3rd share of 12 Days of Christmas with Melanie and Brenda. We hope you have been enjoying our projects so far. Did you know at the end of this hop you will have 14 project ideas? Isn’t that amazing?

I have to admit, I am pretty obsessed with the Reindeer Fun Dies at the moment. In particular, the adorable, genius reindeer head that you can make.

I started with a base of Real Red and added a first layer of Basic White card stock. I then added a layer of DSP from the Reindeer Days collection. I used the largest die from the Stitched Dies in Basic White to be my base for my little reindeer.

The adorable reindeer is put together using Reindeer Fun Dies from the Holiday Catalogue. I used Pecan Pie for his face, Basic White for the behind layer and Early Espresso for the antlers. The wreath is in Garden Green to coordinate with the DSP.

The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season stamp set which you can find in the online store!

Tomorrow you can hop on over to Melanie’s blog and see what she has to share for a holiday project.

Twelve Days of Christmas--Project 2 !

Welcome to my second post of 12 Days of Christmas! Today I want to share a quick and easy holiday gift—A Take-a-Way cup with a fun label that you can fill with hot chocolate!

My kids and I love to drink hot chocolate and I often send some with them to school in a disposable cup (much easier than remembering to bring home a travel mug to your mom, haha!) and I often make some as gifts for my stamping friends. The Holiday season is busy so its fun to have inspiration for projects that don’t take up that much time!

I found these gold striped To Go cups at my local HomeSense and I took the sleeve that came with them and deconstructed it so it was flat. Then I traced it onto some of the Reindeer Days DSP to create my own sleeve.

I punched a 2 3/8 circle from Garden Green and ran it through the Dashing Designs embossing folder. The sentiment ‘Christmas is Better Together’ is from the Reindeers Days stamp set and is stamped in Real Red ink on Basic White.

I used the heart die from the Friends for Life dies to cut out the sentiment and I was so happy it fit so perfectly around the sentiment. The gold bow (to tie into the lines on the cup) is from the Reindeer Fun dies and I snipped a couple pieces of Granny Apple Green card stock into little banners to add behind the heart/bow.

This is such a great, fun and easy project to give a little treat of hot chocolate, or fill the cup with chocolates or other treats.

Head on over to Mel’s Inky Fingers tomorrow to see what she has to share for holiday inspiration!

Twelve Days of Christmas --with Brenda and Melanie!

Hi friends! Welcome to the third annual blog hop between myself and friend Melanie, from Mels Inky Fingers! For the next twelve days you can toggle between our blogs for some fun holiday inspiration! I will be sharing a mix of scrapbooking and card inspiration with you over the next twelve days on a rotating schedule with Melanie. I am so happy you are here and please feel free to leave me comments!

Of course I want to kick off our 12 Days with a fun scrapbooking project! I love to scrapbook and I am getting a jump on some holiday page designs. After Christmas I will be able to simply pop some photos on my pages and it will feel so rewarding!

Many of the scrapbook pages I am going to share over our 12 Days, use the A Little Bit Festive Specialty Paper found in the Holiday Catalogue. This is such a fun and economical way to scrapbook as you can create so many different layouts with the pieces found in this collection.

I started with a base of Garden Green (probably my favorite holiday green if I had to pick) and used a pieces of Real Red as a photo mat for a 5 x 7 picture.

This paper collection has a bunch of shapes that you can pop out and a sheet of six 4 x6 cards. I chose the card with the ornaments and actually fussy cut these out for the top right corner of my page. I stamped the little snowflake image around and under the ornaments using the Happiest Day stamp set. The phrase ‘Good Tidings’ is from the Sophisticated Sled stamp set.

A little Real Red & White bakers twine and some Gold Ribbon through the Good Tidings tag and some Peppermint embellishments finished off this little section of my page.

For the bottom section of my page, I stamped the same image again in the background and popped up the three ornaments from the collection. I added a bit of the Blueberry Bushel gingham pattern from the DSP underneath the top and bottom of my photo mat.

The sentiment is from the Reindeer Fun stamp set that I punched out with the Modern Oval Punch. A added a little more Red & White twine behind it and some more Peppermint Embellishments.

I hope this page inspires you to do some holiday memory keeping. Now its time to head over to Melanie’s blog to see what project she is kicking our 12 Days of Christmas off with! Click the image below to visit Mel’s Inky Fingers!

Color Fusers--October!

Hi friends! Welcome to Color Fusers! We are happy you are here joining our hop—each month we each design projects featuring a fun color combination. This month we are hoping using Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Wild Wheat. NOW, I know that Wild Wheat gets some hate, but I actually do enjoy it and I think it looks awesome of with Petal Pink and Calypso Coral.

I decided to make a scrapbook page this month that features a bunch of new scrapbook products, mashed up with stuff from the Holiday Catalogue and a few favorite retired items.

I actually used the new White Willow card stock and I made a little comparison sample to Basic White.

There is a slight different between the two whites—it is hard to capture in a photo but when they are side by side—you can tell. I would describe White Willow as a little bit brighter of a white. It is definitely worth ordering a package to see for yourself and share with your teams and customers.

This page is ready to add two fun photos taken this month!

I added a 4 x 12 strip of Wild Wheat card stock along the left side that I ran each end through the Dashing Designs embossing folder. It is probably my favorite folder in the catty. I used Petal Pink card stock for 2 photo mats. I added a strip of retired In Color DSP in Wild Wheat along the side of the left photo mat.

October and Crisp Autumn Days are from the Autumn to Remember stamp set which is from the new Scrapbooking Brochure. I stamped October in Calypso Coral for that tone on tone look, with a little bit of retired ribbon behind. It is on the label die Regal Floral Dies.

To bring the sentiment to life I added images from the Regal Floral, Caring Leaves, Changing Leaves and Autumn to Remember stamp sets. What a fun bunch of sets to mix together! A few Gold Textured Adhesive Dots completed this little section.

I love this section on my page—I try to add one to two areas on my page that are story telling or helping to bring my photos alive. I think ‘Crisp Autumn Days’ is awesome!

I love how the Regal Flora flowers work with the leaves to create this scrapbook page. I loved adding sentiments in from the new sets in the scrapbooking brochure. The phrase ‘Unforgettable Memories’ at the top of my page is from the new Snow Day stamp set.

This is a really wonderful color combination that I enjoyed crafting with. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the team comes up with!

Next up on the hop is the AMAZING Janekke—a former Artisan Design Team member! We had so much fun being on the team together. I love her style and I know you will be inspired.

You can also go the other way and see what Melissa Kerman has designed for this month! Either way, you will be impressed.
