Stars for Days!

How have you been enjoying the first 7 days of Christmas cards! I can’t believe how fast the first week of November has gone by! I always find the last half of the year just zips on by with holidays and at our house a few birthdays too! This is one of my favourite cards. I made it back in September and I am so happy to share it here. It mixes two different blue tones—Seaside Spray and Balmy Blue—with Whisper White and silver accents. The Mercury Glass Designer Acetate paper is really the WOW of this card though!

Top Tip: the Mercury Glass paper has a protective layer on it that should be removed before you run it through the Big Shot machine. If you add some Scotch Tape to the paper it does help to get the protective layer free

I used the Subtles embossing folder to give the background some texture and then lightly sponged over it with Seaside Spray to pick up the texture. The sentiment comes from the Most Wonderful Time of Year product medley on page 39 of the Holiday Catalogue.

A Wreath for all Occasions!

Card #6 focuses on a color combo that I really really love of Pool Party, Pretty Peacock and Poppy Parade! I combined them here to create this unusual holiday card. The wreaths are cut with the Season Wreaths dies on pg 7 of the Holiday Catalogue. If you punch a 2 1/2 inch circle it will nestle perfectly behind the wreath. The wreath is also colored with some Wink of Stella that I am unable to capture in a photo. If anyone out there has any tips, please share!

The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set (pg 16). It is a GREAT option to suggest to new stampers as their are 18 holiday sentiments to choose from and they are all sized to be punched out which is a great selling feature!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that...

I think the title of this post sums up this card perfectly! Here are all the amazing different products I used to create this card:

  1. Garden Green, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla Cardstock

  2. Come to Gather Ribbon combo pack

  3. Greatest Part of Christmas stamp set

  4. Read Red Rhinestones

  5. Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper

  6. Copper Foil Paper

  7. Most Wonderful Time Product Medley (dies)

  8. Stitched Nested Labels

  9. Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder

  10. Copper Thread (retired)

  11. Versamark

  12. Copper Embossing Powder

I think it is important to use items from both Catalogues when creating projects. We always want to draw people back to our Annual Catalogue so adding in some of those elements is important. This is also a fun fold card too, it is an easy one for people to remember to make when their own as you simply score the front panel of the card in half and fold back.

Cup of Christmas Cheer Anyone?

If my cup of cheer includes Prosecco inside then I am all for it! haha! Seriously though, the Cup of Christmas stamp set will be a keeper for me. It is part of a new line of stamps called Reversibles. Simply put, these stamps made from Photopolymer are allowed to be stamped on either side allowing you to stamp the cup either way. It is also part of a bundle that includes dies for six of the images in the set. I love the bright cheery colors of this card too (Coastal Cabanna, Granny Apple Green and Real Red). And adding in the Glitter Enamel Dots just makes it that much more fun! I hope you enjoy it too!

Holly Jolly Christmas!

Excited to share my third card with you all today! I love the traditional images found in the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set. You can find it in the Holiday Catalogue on page 26. It is part of bundle that includes the Jolly Season dies and is the centrepiece of the Night Before Christmas suite! I coloured this jolly Santa in with the Stampin’ Blends and then used the puff paint on the furry part of his suit! It looks even better in person! The card base is Seaside Spray which adds just the right amount of vintage to the card when paired with DSP from the Woven Threads paper.
