Holiday Shaker!

I decided to create a whole BUNCH of holiday themed shaker cards! Using the Foam Adhesive Strips to create the ‘shaker’ section made this task easy peasy! The background DSP is the Come to Gather paper from the Holiday Catalogue. I stamped the frame using the snowflake image from the Free Skate stamp set and the die cut snowflakes are from the Frosted Frames die. Tis the Season is cut from red foil paper using the Jolly Season dies. I went though my stash of sequins and used up all of those—let me tell you, it was quite satisfying to have two empty containers when I was done! I added in a pinch of the Ice Stampin’ glitter and punched a bunch of red stars out with a long retired star border punch. The Twinkle builder punch would be a close substitute! I hope you enjoy Day 23 of Christmas Cards!

Everyone does love a good shaker card—even better when it is Holiday Style!

Christmas Blessings

I wanted to share another card using the Light & Peace stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue. I wanted to focus on the Angel image from the stamp set. I did some background stamping with the Bible Verse from Luke and added in a second sentiment, Christmas Blessings. I love the soft feel of the card. It needed a little greenery so I cut some with the Beautiful Boughs dies (pg 15). I did add some Wink of Stella to the Angel and added a bit of a halo to her with a Pool Party Blend. I hope you are inspired to see the versatility of this set!

Light & Peace

My card today for November 21st, 2019 (yes, 21 days of cards so far!) is this soft and spiritual card featuring the Light & Peace stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue (pg 29). I coloured the image with the Stampin’ Blends in the softest of colors for an almost water-colour feel. The sentiment is embossed in silver and I added some interest with DSP, ribbon and sequin strips underneath. The Subtles embossing folder gives the card just the perfect amount of texture. I am so happy with this card that I plan on making several more for family members and am offering it as a part of my Spiritual Christmas class on Thursday, Dec 4th. If you are in the Edmonton area, I hope you will join me!

God's Peace

Day #20! How are you enjoying my Christmas Card inspiration so far?

My friend Kristine leant me a couple of spiritual stamp sets from the Holiday catalogue including God’s Peace which you can find on page 28. I LOVE how this card turned out! I stamped the phrase from Luke 2:10-11 in Crumb Cake in the background and then flicked my Crumb Cake marker. The candle image was coloured with blends and cut out with a stitched circle framelit. The Granny Apple Green sprig was added using the Christmas Layers Dies (pg 16) with a bit of Gold Metallic Thread (I still can’t believe it is retired) and the phrase Peace & Happiness is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set and cut out with the Stitched Rectangular framelits. I love it so much that I am going to host a Spiritual Christmas card class on Wednesday, Dec 4th!

Let is Snow--Metallics!

Back in September I co-hosted an event called Creative Day Getaway. I offer this event 3 times a year with two other demonstrators and each time we host this event I have to create a 15 minute demo. At our last event I took on the challenge of getting creative with the Delicate Metallic Inks. Sadly they are not being carried forward with Stampin’ Up!. However, I did really enjoying playing with them. I used water-colour paper, a spritzer, aqua painter and the Silver Delicate Ink Refill to create this background. Because this refill is so thick, I needed to put a good layer of water down on the paper and then I added 2-3 drops of re-inker and used the aqua painted to move it around. I used my heat tool to set it and I was really happy with how this metallic wash turned out. I stamped ‘Let it Snow’ in the metallic ink to finish off the background.

The snowflakes are cut with the Frosted Frames dies!
