Be Inspired Blog Hop--Sale a Bration 2024!

Hi friends! Welcome to the Be Inspired Blog Hop for January! We are all sharing some project inspiration featuring Sale a bration items. Now, if you have been a Stampin’ Up! fan for a while, would you agree with. me that this is one of our BEST Sale a bration offerings EVER! I am loving the variety of things we can choose for FREE!

Valentine’s Day is a really fun day around our house. I host a ‘pink dinner’ for my kids and even though they are teens, I still spoil them with fun valentine’s gifts. Of course, I also love to make a fun place setting treat for them for our pink dinner and the Most Adored 12x12 paper was perfect for creating some fun little treat boxes to dress up our table.

I used the Square Pillow Box and left the top flap open to create a fun little box to stick in a box of chocolates. Both the box and chocolates are wrapped in the Most Adored 12x12 paper in the two heart patterns in the DSP. Having the box left open creates a fun opportunity to stuff it full of fun Valentine’s treats and other stuff (I will probably add some gift cards or cold hard cash inside for my teens). Top off the box or add filler around your treat with some paper shreddie that you can easily pick up at most box stores in the party isle.

I love how simply keeping the box open creates the opportunity to stick in fun treats like this wrapped sleeve of chocolates. The sentiment on the box is die cut with the Everyday Details Dies which I am just loving at the moment! I didn’t even get the stamp set, I just got the Dies!

Using the Black& White Gingham ribbon on both projects helps unite the two projects. And the Heartfelt Hellos was a perfect set to add to these projects. A couple cute little foil hearts also add a special touch—you can find them in the Adorning Hearts Dies.

I hope this project inspires you to create some fun easy Valentine’s projects for the special people in your life too using just a few supplies—two of which you can get for FREE during Sale a bration 2024!

I can’t wait to see what new Artisan Design Team member Maheswari has created to share with us! You can see her project by clicking the image below, and of course visit the entire hop to be inspired on how you can craft with the 2024 Sale a bration collection!

Color Fusers--February 2023

Hello friends! Welcome to the February Color Fusers BLOG HOP! I love to hop with this creative crew and I look forward to crafting with our color challenges each month!

This month we have a really unique color combination for you—Calypso Coral, Balmy Blue and Pale Papaya!

I love that our color challenge this month is NOT what you would expect for Valentines projects but I decided to make one with this combination anyway!

The reason I liked this color combination for a valentine’s card is because it doesn’t have to be a holiday about your spouse or significant other. It can also be a holiday about those who you LOVE so I designed a card that you could give to your mom, or a friend, or someone in your life who means something special to you.

I decided to make the base of my card Pale Papaya and I am officially going on record to say how much I will miss this fun color. It is a tone that seems to works so well with so many of our core colors!

I also had not used my Dots & Spots die in a while so I pulled it out to created an interesting first layer on my card. And because its Sale a Bration I had to use some of the DSP from the Favoured Flowers collection to anchor the bottom half of the card and create a base for the design. I also love how it has a more geometrical design that works well with the polkadot first layer.

One of the things I was most excited about in the new Occasions catalogue was the Love for You bundle. I think it is fantastic for card making AND an amazing set for scrapbooking (my first love).

I stamped out the sentiment ‘So Much Love’ in Balmy Blue. Now I think Balmy Blue is having a moment. If you flip through the Occasions Catalogue you might notice that it is showing up in a lot of the new DSP designs!

The flowers from Love For You are stamped in both Calypso Coral and Balmy Blue. I stamped the solid layer of the flower off on my grid paper and then the detail part of the stamp full strength over top. You can also add a little center if you desire as well. Seriously! The designers at Stampin’ Up! think of every possibility!

The centers and the cute little hearts are stamped in Pale Papaya.

I added Happy Valentine’s Day onto the design but you could easily omit it. But I love that you can send this card to someone who isn’t your sweetheart. And I couldn’t resist a bit of Linen Thread underneath the sentiment.

A few Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins in blue completed this unique card! I really hope you like the twist on this Valentine’s Day project!

Next on the hop is the amazing Bonnie O’Neill so click on the image to head directly to her blog. If you want to go backwards you can click on PREVIOUS to see what Sue Vine has designed this month.

Make sure to check out everyone on the Hop and please leave a comment if you enjoy my project this month. I would love to hear from you!

Joy of Sets February Blog Hop--Sprinkle Hearts

fullsizeoutput_10cf0.jpeg

The theme for this month’s Blog Hop is love and hearts! Those two criteria inspired me to make this Valentine’s Day layout featuring my favourite item of the moment, Pigment Sprinkles. I have really been focused with sharing this great product at my groups over the month of January. I was finding two things-my loyal stampers needed an introduction to something NEW and many people were intimidated by how to use the Pigment Sprinkles. They are, my friends, so easy! The first tip I have is to let go of trying to control them! They will work magic for you with just a little water and either water-colour paper or Shimmery White Cardstock as your base. In my case I used Shimmery White to add to the overall finish of the hearts. I have played around with spritzing water first and adding the sprinkles or adding sprinkles and then water and I find I have a better end result by adding sprinkles and then the water. You will also get a different look with using a heat tool (which is what I did in my class settings) versus allowing the product to air dry (who has time for that! hahaha).

You can see here that you only need three ingredients to create something awesome! After you spritz the sprinkles with water, let them sit for a few seconds as they absorb and spread. The last photo shows the difference of letting the sprinkles sit. I then took my heat tool and blasted the paper until it was dry.

I tried to keep the rest of the elements on my scrapbook page minimal to really draw the attention to the sprinkle hearts. They were easy to punch out using the heart punch pack from page 10 of the Occasions Mini. The Happy Valentine’s Day stamp is from the Heartfelt stamp set (pg 10). LOVE is embossed in gold from the Well Said stamp set (found in the main catalogue) and the From My Heart Faceted Gems added the perfect finishing touch!

I hope this page has inspired you to try playing around with the Pigment Sprinkles. You can find them on pg 179 of the main catalogue in a group of six awesome colors. My page features the Mango Melody pigment sprinkles which is actually a great blend of pinks with a tinge of coral and orange!

Continue hopping along by visiting Rochelle Laird-Smith’s blog and please feel free to leave a comment for me to enjoy :)

I am also going to include all of the stops on the Blog Hop just to be sure no one gets missed!

Its a Valentine's Bonanza!

I absolutely love Valentine’s Day. I love making V Day projects, cards and buying special gifts for my family. When my kids were little we developed a “Pink Dinner” tradition. My husband and I realized that we probably wouldn’t be going out to romantic dinners anymore with having three kids, so we decided to create something special for our whole family to enjoy. So I decorate our table with Valentine’s Decor and even pull out real wine glasses for the kids to use. We drink pink pop, eat heart shaped pizza and all the other foods are either pink or red. I will admit, it makes for a pretty interesting dinner sometimes. But it is fun and the kids all look forward to it. I will make sure to do a blog post of my table!

This year I will be adding these adorable heart tin treat boxes to each persons spot at the table and I will fill them with the candies each kid likes best (probably Skittles, Reeses pieces and Kit Kat’s!). I cannot resist these Bonanza Buddies, the Koala (fun fact: its one of my favourite animals, tied with the panda bear and an Ewok if they really existed!) and the lion are just beyond adorable! They can be found on page 33 of the Mini Catalogue. The entire Birthday Bonanza Suite is colourful, whimsical, and fun!

I love our new heart punches pack on page 10 as they are so easy for kids to use and the layering option of the two is fabulous. And personally, I think you can use hearts all year long! This project was a great way to use up some ribbon scraps as well. The sentiment, For You, is from the Label Me Bold stamp set which is a Million Dollar Achiever stamp set.

Hot Tip: you can use the classic label punch for any of the sentiments in the stamp set and just quickly snip the edges to get a perfect cut!

I added in the heart doilies to the bottom of the tins as well for that added detail. I think its awesome they come in a package of 40! Way to go Stampin’ Up!

I hope you are inspired by these super cute projects. I had so much fun making them and will be offering them at two different class times—-Wed, Jan 29th at 6:30 pm and Monday, Feb 10th at 6:30. They are perfect for kids and adults to make! Imagine finding one of these on your desk at work! Click on the Sign Up Now button to register for this class!

Honestly, I don’t care if you are 5 or 50, I think these would make anyone happy!

I thought it would be fun to add something to the inside of the lids. It is like a little extra surprise!
