Color Fusers-June-Its NEW In Color Season!

Yay! One of my most favourite time of year is here—new In Color Season! While it is sad to say good bye to favourites, like Pretty in Pink and Petunia Pop (I am keeping my fingers crossed they might be a part of the 2027 Color Refresh!), I am happy to have some new colours to play and experiment with!

I am really happy to see the return of Crisp Cantaloupe—it plays so well with Petal Pink and Calypso Coral. I also immediately loved Barely Blush and Peaceful Pine. On the fence about Golden Glow….someone will make me love it with one of their creations and Hydrangea Hue—is it purple or is it blue? Hue can tell…

I thought it would be fun to create some mini cards featuring all 5 of our new colors. My favourite addition to the In Color lineup is the 12x12 In Color DSP—in fact, all of the color families now have 12x12 DSP instead of 6x6. I cannot tell you how in love I am with this!

I love the gradient stripped pattern they included in the designs. While I am always a sucker for polka dots, if we can’t have gingham (actually, spoiler alert—it’s coming out in June!) then a good stripe goes a long long way!

As you can see, each card has a strip of DSP flanking the card stock panel in the middle. The strip helps elongate the card, making it feel bigger than 4 x 4.

One of my favourite new bundles in the Annual Catalogue is the Heirloom Blooms Bundle. I cannot tell you have much I have used it already—it’s definitely been inspiring me. I love the large oversized flower (one of 4) that comes in the die set. I used it on each card in Basic White, along with a petal die—all cut from Peaceful Pine.

Each card has a length of ribbon that I cut into two to layer and create a really full looking bow.

And I love the In Color Butterly accents. It’s a bonus that they included clear as well!

The sentiment is from the Cutest Crew stamp set (love love love) and is embossed on Basic Black with white embossing powder. I used the new banner punch on the sentiment. It just fit perfectly.

I used a retired embossing folder for the card stock strip/panel in the middle of the card but you can use any basic patterned folder to give your card some texture and interest while not taking over the design.

Next up on the Hop is my friend Tami—we were members of the Artisan team a few years back and I love everything she creates! Just click this button to get to her blog!

If for some reason the hop gets broken, you can also try going in reverse too by visiting Lou Kitzelman as I know you will also enjoy being inspired by her creativity!

No doubt we will be seeing many of these new In Colors as a family or mixed with our other fabulous colors over the next couple of years. I hope you consider adding them to your repertoire! If you are looking for a demonstrator in Canada—please consider shopping with me! I love what I do and hope to continue!

A Card a Day in May--Day 11!

Hello friends! I really love my card share today as its so bright and cheery and features one of my favorite new stamp sets—Simply Fabulous! This set has great sentiments in a fun font and some super cute imagery to support!

I love the crisp background of this card that just lets our fabulous new In Color’s really shine on this card! The Basic White looks great on the Orchid Oasis card base.

The sentiment is stamped in Starry Sky and is die cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies (#addtocart) and raised up on a few Dimensionals. It is then brought to life with the fun flowers and greenery from the Simply Fabulous stamp set!

There is no hardware so to speak for this stamp set so you will have to hand trim out all of these images! I stamped a collection of little flowers in the new In Colors and the greenery all in Parakeet Party.

The little flowers look super cute with the Matte Decorative Dots added to the centers and are layered with Dimensionals to add some texture!

If you haven’t add the Simply Fabulous stamp set to your collection, I say #addtocart as it has so much potential! I know I will crafting with this alot!

Have a wonderful day my friends!

Create with Connie and Mary--All In Colors, All in ONE!

This week we are challenged to create a project that incorporates all 5 of our new In Colors onto one project! I actually love doing this and often create cards and scrapbook pages with this design theme.

Our new In Colors are just so fantastic as they look awesome together as a group and they work so well to complement our existing colors. So it was not hard to create with them!

I used the Banners Pick a Punch to create the banners or flags along the left edge in the following colors: Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink.

I cut a panel of Basic White card stock to layer overtop and pop up with Dimensionals. For the background I stamped the floral image from the Art in Bloom stamp set in Whisper White Craft Ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.

The sentiment is from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set and is stamped in Polished Pink ink and punched with a 2 inch circle (or you can use the Layering Circle Dies) and also popped up with Dimensionals.

Finally I added a couple clear circles from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials which added a nice detail without distracting from the crisp clean background.

You can go BACK to see what Melissa designed this week or keep going along with the hop and see what Connie has created. I hope you are enjoying these new In Colors as much as we all are!

Woven Threads Card Class

I don’t know about you, but I find June to be the busiest month of the year! Between outdoor kids activities, wrapping up the school year (aka Teacher Gifts), and the launch of a new catalogue, I find myself needing to be really on top of schedule. I always try and find a way to make one card design go its furthest! I created this In Color Woven Threads class to do just that. You will notice that each card has the same design, however I did keep them avid by mixing up the framelits and sentiments on each card. I also decorated an acetate card box to store the cards and envelopes in. You always want to showcase new and returning products together when you can and I think this class is the perfect blend of that. I will be offering it on my schedule soon so watch out for it!

I think this little suite of cards would be a perfect teachers gift (paired with a bottle of wine!)

Meet the New In Colors!

As you know, every year Stampin’ Up! introduces 5 new colours for us to be creative with. Each collection lasts 2 seasons in the Idea Book and Catalogue. The new 2019/2021 In Colours are Roccoco Rose, Terracotta Tile, Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray, and Purple Posy. I would describe them as having a grey muted undertone. They look amazing on their own or paired with some of our permanent colours. So far I would say my favourite is Seaside Spray as I am really enjoying the blue tones in our colour assortment.
